Study Data: Your Bible reading history, highlights, notes, study plan progress, and community contributions.

AI Interaction Data: Questions asked, AI-generated responses, and token usage for billing purposes.

Usage Data: Session duration, feature usage patterns, and device information for service improvement.

2. How We Use Your Data

• Providing and personalizing the Bible study experience
• Generating AI-powered insights tailored to your proficiency level
• Tracking usage for subscription billing and limits
• Improving the Service through aggregated, anonymized analytics
• Communicating service updates and important notices

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — Database hosting, authentication, and file storage
• OpenRouter / Anthropic — AI model processing for insights, commentary, and Q&A
• Payment provider — A PCI-compliant third-party processor handles payments for subscriptions and top-ups. Your card details go directly to the provider; we never receive or store them.
• Google — OAuth authentication
• Vercel — Application hosting

Each third party processes data according to their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

4. Data Retention

• Account data is retained as long as your account is active
• AI-generated content cache expires after 30 days
• Study data (notes, highlights) is retained indefinitely unless you delete it
• Usage tracking data is retained for 12 months for billing purposes
• Upon account deletion, all personal data is removed within 30 days

5. Children's Privacy

Bible Buddies includes parental controls for users under 13. Parents can manage their children's accounts, set daily time limits, and control content access. We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data at any time through Settings
• Export your notes and study data in Markdown format
• Delete your account and all associated data
• Correct inaccurate personal information
• Object to processing of your data for specific purposes

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encrypted database storage, and row-level security policies. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
